1.1 For Browsing & Downloading (No account needed)

You do not need an account to browse or download ringtones. For anonymous visitors, we may automatically collect:

• Browser & device info — user-agent string, screen type, and OS for compatibility.
• Referrer URL — the page you came from (helps us understand traffic sources).
• Anonymous usage data — which ringtones are downloaded, page views, likes (no personal identifiers).

1.2 If You Create an Account

When you sign up to upload ringtones, we collect:

• First name & last name — for your public profile display.
• Email address — used for OTP verification, login, and notifications.
• Login Key — a unique 64-character code generated for you. Stored securely hashed (bcrypt), never in plain text.
• Profile information — chosen avatar, username, join date.
• Uploaded content — ringtones, titles, descriptions, and metadata you submit.

1.3 If You Submit a Report or Contact Us

When using the Report or Contact pages, we collect:

• Your name and email (if provided voluntarily).
• Report details and message content.
• Your IP address (for abuse prevention).

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect strictly for the following purposes:

• ✅ To create and secure your account — email OTP + Login Key authentication.
• ✅ To operate the platform — display your uploads, track downloads, prevent spam.
• ✅ To send important emails — signup verification, ringtone approval/rejection, Login Key reset.
• ✅ To respond to your messages — contact form and report submissions.
• ✅ To prevent abuse — block malicious traffic, catch spam, enforce our Terms.
• ✅ To improve the site — analyze anonymous usage patterns (no personal tracking).

3. Cookies & Similar Technologies

We use a minimal number of essential cookies to make the site work. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies.

You can disable cookies in your browser settings, but some features (like staying logged in) may stop working.

4. Data Storage & Security

We take security seriously. Here's how we protect your data:

• 🔐 HTTPS everywhere — all traffic is encrypted in transit.
• 🔐 Bcrypt hashing — Login Keys are hashed, not stored in plain text.
• 🔐 OTP verification — signup requires email verification to prevent fake accounts.
• 🔐 Secure file storage — uploaded ringtones are stored on Cloudflare R2 with HTTPS delivery.
• 🔐 Rate limiting & captchas — protect against brute-force and spam.
• 🔐 Regular monitoring — we watch for unusual activity and fix issues promptly.

Data retention: We keep your account information for as long as your account is active. Uploaded ringtones and their metadata remain until you delete them, an admin removes them, or your account is deleted. You can delete your account and all its data instantly at any time from your Profile page — see Section 6.1 for details. Anonymous logs are kept for up to 90 days.

5. Third-Party Services

We use a small set of trusted third-party services to run HinglishPoint. Each one is bound by its own privacy policy:

We do not share your personal information with advertisers, data brokers, or analytics companies.

6. Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

• 👁️ Right to access — request a copy of the data we hold about you.
• ✏️ Right to correct — update your name, email, or profile info anytime from your profile.
• 🗑️ Right to delete — delete your account instantly from your Profile page. All your data, uploads, and files are removed immediately. See details below.
• 📦 Right to export — request your data in a machine-readable format.
• 🚫 Right to object — opt out of non-essential processing.

6.1 Account Deletion — What Gets Deleted

We offer a self-service account deletion feature — no need to email support or wait. You can delete your account anytime from your Profile page. When you delete your account, the following data is permanently and immediately removed:

• 👤 Your account — name, email, username, avatar, and Login Key.
• 🎵 All ringtones you uploaded — from our database and file storage.
• 📥 Download history — all download logs associated with your uploads.
• ❤️ Likes — all likes you've given to other ringtones.
• 🚩 Reports — any reports filed against your uploads.
• 🔑 OTP tokens — any pending verification codes for your email.
• 📁 Stored files — all MP3 files from our Cloudflare R2 storage.

What about backups? Our production database and storage do not retain deleted content. However, standard infrastructure backups (taken for disaster recovery) may retain a copy for up to 30 days, after which they are permanently overwritten. Backup data is never accessed for any purpose other than full-system recovery.

Confirmation email: After deletion, we send a confirmation email to your registered address (before the account is fully wiped) so you have a record of the action.

7. Children's Privacy

HinglishPoint is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we'll delete it immediately.

If you are between 13 and 18, please use the site only with the consent of a parent or guardian.

8. International Users

HinglishPoint is operated from India. If you access the site from outside India, your information may be transferred to and processed in India — where our servers and service providers are located. By using the site, you consent to this transfer.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal reasons. When we make significant changes, we'll:

• 📢 Notify registered users via email if changes are material.
